Description
| This dataset contains 1000 seismic models of Mars compatible with seismic body wave travel times and converted seismic waves of high-quality marsquakes, in addition to mean planet mass and moment of inertia. The employed data set and the inversion procedure are detailed in Khan et al.: Evidence for a liquid silicate layer atop the Martian core, Nature. All model files are provided in nd format for compatibility with TauP and in generic txt format for general use, containing additional model information such as pressure, temperature, and gravity. The core compositions in the Fe-Ni-S-C-O-H senary system derived from Ab Initio Molecular Dynamics simulations that match the seismically-determined core density profiles are also provided. |
